Colorado Springs is the second most populous city in the state and the 48th-most populous in the nation.  Situated near the base of Pikes Peak on the eastern edge of the southern Rocky Mountains, Colorado Springs was named the best big city in places to live by Money Magazine in 2006.  Originally established as a posh resort community, the city has since expanded to provide several other reasons to live in the area.  While other industries have prospered locally, tourism, especially during the winter ski season, is still the main economic driver of the area.  Interestingly, Colorado Springs is also home to the United States Olympic Training Center that includes the headquarters and primary training facilities for most of the nation’s Olympic sports.

Colorado Springs real estate properties are quite popular with people of all ages, professions, and backgrounds.  In fact, there has been a recent surge in interest for local houses as more people become interested in the city.  Unlike its larger sibling Denver, Colorado Springs is much more manageable, has much more personality, and is much friendlier.  Additionally, the fantastic views of the snow-capped Rocky Mountains and the superb local ski resorts makes living in Colorado Springs a dream.
